Kapok, Vegetal Stuffing that Respects Our Planet

The Kapok tree grows in the tropics of South America, West Africa and Southeast Asia. Considered a sacred tree by the Mayans, it is a giant, imposing tree that can reach heights of up to 70m, with a smooth trunk covered in large thorns.
The fine, soft hairs covering the kapok tree's seeds are used to produce the vegetable fiber known as Kapok.

At Atelier Cocon we have chosen to upholster our yoga bolsters, zabuton and futon with this vegetable fiber because, in addition to being biodegradable, it has the advantage of being rot-proof.
Naturally hypoallergenic, this supple, lightweight fiber resists dust mites and is anti-microbial, making it ideal for people with sensitive skin, allergies or asthma;
In addition to these virtues, the padding obtained from Kapok is dense and soft, providing the necessary support for a quality yoga bolster.
