It's no secret that the environmental impact of growing cotton is heavy. The cotton plant consumes a lot of water and because of its fragility requires a lot of fertilizers and pesticides.
A good alternative to conventional cotton is recycled cotton, which then becomes part of a circular economy and slows down the harmful cultivation of conventional cotton.
Recycled cotton comes from collected clothing or industrial offcuts, sorted by color and then ground to obtain cotton fibre. This fiber is spun again to be redeployed as yarn for fabric or left as such to be used as padding for mattresses and cushions as we do at Atelier Cocon.
This cotton fiber filling allows us to offer a more accessible range of meditation cushions and yoga bolsters always with intention. This intention is to manufacture quality, functional and aesthetic products for our customers while participating in sustainable development.
